Birthday Party Creativity

Hey there, fellow moms!  I hear you, I get it!  See , I felt the annual pressure to host creative birthday parties that my kiddos and their guests would enjoy. Bonus, if it is something that is unique and requires their participation. Even better when they learn something. I mean, we did cooking classes, pottery experiences, bead bracelet making, canvas painting...you name it...we tried it & so did everyone else. So...I have an offer...I love to create and I love to teach others to tap into their own creative energy.  I would LOVE the opportunity to design a craft activity customized to your interests or party theme.  I would be happy to come to your house to join the party, or if needed, we can find an alternative location (I have an idea).  The pricing is based on your budget, supply costs and my time needed to prep and teach (and potential location costs if needed).   So if this interests you and you want a unique, one-of-a-kind, stress free birthday party experience...give me a shout!  I would LOVE to dream up something unique!

Take the Time... Make the Card

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1DbzS4LzNfUCfl_eJkbtYn3ugBkxopC5bTruthfully, I didn’t think they cared!  So when times got crazy and I was prioritizing my time...I didn’t do it!  What, you ask?  I didn’t make handmade cards for my daughter’s birthdays this year. The first is in July and we were busy prepping and then making memories in Waco at Magnolia. The second was blessed with a Thanksgiving birthday this year and as we were prepping to host Thanksgiving...I just simply didn’t. As we were talking about Christmas and I was asking what they wanted...they both said “a handmade card, we didn’t get them for our birthdays this year.” {insert heart breaking}  I didn’t realize they meant that much to them.  After all, one birthday was spent in Waco on vacation and the other was spent Black Friday shopping (her choice, not mine). Then, they proceeded to share with me where they keep them {my heart exploded}!!  I didn’t know they kept them all. So this year...I commit to making the time and I made the cards.  There will never be another birthday without a handmade card. Sometimes the smallest gestures mean the most.  So take the time and MAKE THE CARD!!

Homemade Christmas

Ever wonder what to get the person that has EVERYTHING?  We (my siblings and I) decided years ago, there was nothing any of us needed and therefore, we focused on the kids. Overtime, I felt I wanted to make something for my family, just to let them know I am thinking about them and wanting to bring a little smile to their homes.
Every year it is a different project, heart fully created. This year it is customized serving trays. I had so much fun making these that I think I will offer a class to teach anyone that wants to learn how to make them, how to make them!!  Stay tuned as classes are coming!  A little wood, stain, paint..a lotta sanding... handles and ta-da!

Spreading Christmas Cheer

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1jpvzhpyyZlpkXlLWhTMBuWYuYWzd9mL3
As the holidays speed up and Christmas Prep list is being checked off...take a quick moment to spread some holiday cheer to those around you. The girls and I did just that a couple days ago...we surprised our neighbors with a quick bit of cheer!  I mean...who doesn’t need more paper, tags and tape the last few days before Christmas!  May all your days be merry and bright!

Christmas is for Making Memories

Every once in awhile...something comes along and smacks you right between the eyes. That is exactly what Gene’s story did to me .  It reminded me that life is fragile, that EVERY DAY is a gift, they we need to hit pause and enjoy the moment verses always being caught in the rat race. It is what made me stop and video my parents decorating cookies this week.  It is why I pulled my kids from school on Friday to spend a family day cheering on our beloved Badger Volleyball team.  It is why I spent one late night making this special card for Gene and his family. They are all in our prayers and I hope that this Christmas is full of lifetime memories and magical moments. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_BcmLGwrbuIMScWNnZL9eUPpFoSwZAMm

Holiday Traditions

The holidays are quickly approaching...don't we say that every YEAR!  How do they sneak up on us EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR?  This year, I'm going to point at a late Thanksgiving!!!  Anyway....as we dive full on into the holiday season...do you have family traditions that you look forward to every year?  We do!  We always put our Christmas decorations up (8 TREES!!!) the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving, then we decorate Christmas cookies with Meema, wrap pretty presents, chase that silly Elf around the house, gather many time with various family, we go to church on Christmas Eve and spend the rest of the evening snug at home reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas and then end the night with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!!  But one of our FAVORITE traditions is going to a holiday show with Meema. This year we chose the "Nutcracker" where one of our most favorite dancers was the Spanish Dancer.  Which brings me to our crafty inspiration today...it is true...I do NOT like flowers!  SO, what do you present to a dancer after her show...flowers.  Don't feel like you have to be traditional...we grabbed some flocked eucalyptus, snowberries, cotton puffs and a pretty flower...wrapped the stems in twine and wrapped the bunch in kraft paper, topped it off with a buffalo check bow and VOILA!!!
